Sometimes we are really lucky and find beautiful campsites like at Monocle Lake. A super campsite, in the middle of nature, shady, plenty of space, so we could put our buzz across but still nicely secluded with plenty of privacy. Although without water and electricity, but with very good Internet. Unfortunately we had to realize the next day that when we both work we use plenty of electricity. The solar system is not able to produce enough power in such a shady place to keep the battery charged and we have to run the generator. This goes against our grain for environmental reasons. So we decided to drive to the nearby Bay Mills Casino. The camping site there is exactly at the street and everything in row and limb, but it has electricity, water and a sewage connection.
In general, our evaluation criteria for camping sites have changed a lot since we work from the Buzz. Before, the most secluded site with a good view and privacy was preferred. Now, at least during the week, power and Internet connection are more important, then come the shower options and jogging facilities, and only at the end the location and view. With these criteria, you end up more often on places where one camper stands next to the other and the feeling of great freedom does not want to set. But there are still the weekends and at least we are then closer to the adventure than others.
