After visiting the Kitch-iti-kipi Spring Pond and our great bike tour in Seney National Wildlife Refuge with a hunt for the Monarch Butterfly we went to an RV Resort at Manistique Lake.
A few weeks ago we stayed with our Buzz for a few days in an RV Resort, which was relatively new, offered many amenities and was accordingly luxurious. After several nights in rather simple places we had chosen another RV Resort. I’m not sure what the difference between resort and campground is, but there was a shower – simple but clean, a dump station with drinking water refill (embarrassing, but I had to look up the German word for dump station in the dictionary) and a firewood delivery service. The places were on a grass field and quite close to each other, but there was at least a lake access, which we unfortunately didn’t use because of the low temperatures. Somehow we had expected more.
Our biggest problem was the cellphone reception. When we were both working we reached our limits and the limits of TOGO. This is the AT&T receiver that we mounted on the roof of the Buzz Bus and which provides us with a WLAN. Nevertheless we spent our time on the campground working. And it was the first time we watched children playing the game “Corona”. This is a catching game where you infect the other person with Corona instead of catching.
By chance, another Travato came to the campsite but only to empty the sewage tank. We found out that the owner also belongs to the Travato Owner and Wannebies group on Facebook. She is from the area and could recommend some places to stay.
Originally we wanted to stay one night longer but our son had found out that his way to the AirBnB where we wanted to meet is not so far away and they could reach it in a day if they drove through. How much faster you can be at your destination if you turn off the “avoid highways” setting.
We cleared this with the AirBnB owner and she gave us one complimentary night.
